Complaining Praised

It’s easy to complain. Life’s not fair. In fact, some days it just SUCKS! We deal with pain, failure, confusion and anger. We are restless and impatient, disappointed and abandoned by others. Loneliness, emptiness and poor decisions lead to divorce, loss and even death. My first inclination is to throw a big pity party of one and feel sorry for myself. I closed myself off from others to avoid any possibility of future hurt and pain.

But, that doesn’t solve or remove any of the issues. I must stand and face my life, my decisions, my future. I truly believe that I am blessed and loved by the God of the universe. My faith is in Him. That’s doesn’t diminish my problems. My faith doesn’t remove obstacles or consequences. Instead, I replace anger with peace, loneliness with love. There is hope in the confusion and darkness. Grace allows me to move forward and strengthens me for future battles. Mercy instead of fear, comforts me through the hard knocks this world has to give.

I am given the ability to see past the gray-tones of life today into the vibrant possibilities of my future. A future that is accompanied by a full orchestra playing beautiful music. Just for me!

“Though the cherry trees don’t blossom and the strawberries don’t ripen, Though the apples are worm-eaten and the wheat fields stunted, Though the sheep pens are sheepless and the cattle barns empty, I’m singing joyful praise to GOD. I’m turning cartwheels of joy to my Savior God. Counting on GOD ’s Rule to prevail, I take heart and gain strength. I run like a deer. I feel like I’m king of the mountain! (For congregational use, with a full orchestra.)”
